About

Hi, my name is Douglas Bell. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I am a junior at American University in Washington, DC, majoring in Public Communication, and minoring in Music and Education Studies.
On-campus, I contribute to ATV (AU’s student-run television station) in a number of capacities, including serving as IT Director and producing or co-producing multiple television shows. I also serve as the Chair of AU’s Student Media Board and Secretary of the School of Communication Student Council, and I write a biweekly column for The Eagle, AU’s student newspaper.
Musically, I perform with the AU Symphony Orchestra as principal cellist, and also play with other groups on-campus. I am also the Assistant Director of the Fellowship of Sound musical/choral group within AU’s United Methodist-Protestant Community.
Outside of campus life, I develop and manage websites for a number of organizations, and am particularly experienced with WordPress. I also have extensive experience with social media management and marketing, and am experienced in video editing with Final Cut Pro (7 & X), designing basic motion graphics, and deploying/administering Mac OS X Server.
