I built this website for the student-run television station at American University. This site was my first site developed with WordPress MU (now WordPress Multi-Site), however unlike most common multi-site setups, I wrote a lot of custom code to provide close integration between the primary WordPress site, and the secondary sites used for ATV’s shows.

The site’s primary emphasis is on distributing ATV’s student-produced media from across nearly a dozen shows as full episodes and as individual video clips. WordPress’ custom post types functionality is utilized to manage the media separately by show alongside a standard blog for each show, while dynamically aggregating the content from each show for presentation on the primary part of the ATV website. The site includes custom-written integrations with uStream, YouTube, Tumblr, and the iTunes Podcast Directory as needed by ATV’s shows and departments.

Built On: WordPress, using the Mystique theme by Digitalnature on the main site; the show sites use the default Twenty Ten theme. Includes video playback using JW Player and podcasting support using Blubrry PowerPress.

Recognitions: Nominated for Outstanding Website in the Visions 2011 festival held by the American University School of Communication. (April 2011)
